What is McKinney-Vento?

HUD’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants program represents the primary source of federal funding for programs serving people experiencing homelessness.

  • Housing & Supportive Services
McKinney-Vento funds are used to provide housing and supportive services to community-based agencies that serve at-risk populations, which includes those experiencing homelessness.

  • Competitive Funding
The Continuum competes annually for McKinney-Vento funding. There is no guarantee the Boise City/Ada County Continuum of Care will receive funding. The City of Boise sponsors the application development on behalf of the Continuum of Care.
